Social:

A total of 438 Social audits have been conducted during the period of 1 January 2021 to 31 July 2021. At this stage, a further 78 social audits have already been formally scheduled for the coming months until December 2021. A further 37 audit requests have been made and are in the process of application with the relevant audit firms.

Environmental:

A total of 15 Environmental audits have been conducted between 1 January 2021 and 31 July 2021. There is an increasing demand for SIZA environmental audits which leads us to predict that audits will increase substantially by 2022 as more producers and businesses get audit-ready. Four audits have already been formally scheduled while a further 10 audit requests were made and are in the process of application.

Critical Non-Compliances

A total of 19 critical non-compliances were reported to SIZA for the period of 1 January 2021 to 31 July 2021. These critical non-compliances resulted from audits at 14 member sites. All critical findings have been reported in accordance with the SIZA Alert Notification policy.

Three of the 19 critical non-compliances have been resolved in full and the remaining 16 are in the process of implementing adequate corrective action.

Audit Disputes

There were 11 audit disputes received for the period of 1 January 2021 to 31 July 2021. All of the disputes have been resolved in full and have been closed.

Number of Non-Compliances Raised

Social Audits:

Between 1 January 2021 and 31 July 2021, a total of 4 315 non-compliances were raised during social audits. In total 3 127 findings have been successfully closed, a total of 943 still require corrective actions whilst a further 245 are being reviewed by the auditors.

Environmental Audits:

For the period of 1 January 2021 to 31 July 2021, a total of 65 non-compliances were raised during environmental audits. In total 39 findings have been successfully closed, a total of 24 still require corrective actions whilst a further two are being reviewed by the auditors.
