In today’s complex and diverse agricultural landscape, amplifying the voices of all stakeholders—especially those at the grassroots level, such as agri-workers and local suppliers—is more critical than ever. Transparent mechanisms for raising and addressing concerns are essential, not only to uphold ethical standards and human rights but also to ensure the sustainability and integrity of the entire supply chain. Global buyers increasingly demand accountability and traceability, requiring concrete evidence that responsible practices are being implemented and monitored from the ground up. Meeting these expectations is no longer optional—it is a fundamental component of doing business in a conscientious and globally connected market.
SIZA (The Sustainability Initiative of South Africa) is committed to this vision through its comprehensive grievance management programme — Voice for All. The Integrity Resolution and Advisory Panel ensures that all concerns are addressed objectively, data is accurately tracked, and transparency is prioritised in line with the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the UN Guiding Principles for Grievances.
The Objectives of the Voice for All Programme?
The Voice for All programme is a structured grievance mechanism designed to ensure all stakeholders in the primary agricultural value chain can safely and transparently raise complaints that can be resolved ethically and objectively. It enables:
- Real-time tracking of grievances
- Multi-stakeholder mediation and investigation
- Fair and objective grievance resolution
- Transparency and credibility for global buyers through direct visibility to data and information on the MySIZA Platform or via SIZA’s partner programme, appellando, when grievances are escalated if not resolved under the SIZA structures.
- Promote transparency and accountability
- Ensure timely, fair, and effective resolution of grievances
- Encourage continuous learning and drive systemic improvement
- Minimise duplication by centralising grievance data and reporting
- Support global due diligence requirements under the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the UN Guiding Principles for Grievances
