  • Environmental Second-Party Verifications

Between the period of 1 January 2020 to 31 October 2020, a total of 65 farms that form part of the 2020 Environmental Second-Party Verification sample group were visited. A large portion of the verifications were scheduled for Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 of 2020, and thus had to be postponed due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions. SIZA conducted a total of 42 Environmental verification site visits over the last three months. The verifications took place in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. The aim of these visits is to drive continuous improvement related to Environmental stewardship among members. SIZA aims to complete the verifications of the 2020 sample group by the end of December. Therefore, 11 verifications are scheduled to take place during November and December 2020.
