  • Critical Findings

Four (4) critical findings were reported for the months of January 2020 to June 2020. The procedures were communicated to the audit company and SIZA member appropriately. All critical findings have been reported in accordance with the SIZA Alert Notification policy.
The critical findings were as follows:

  • Employees being verbally abused and threatened by the farm manager
  • Allegations of physical manhandling and verbal abuse were made by employees
  • Piece-rate workers not receiving minimum wage rate.

Two of the critical alerts were resolved in full and the members implemented appropriate corrective actions. The remaining two are in the process of implementing appropriate corrective actions.
