Recognition of Third-party Audit Firms

  • Recognition of Third-party Audit Firms

Many buyers only recognise certain audit firms for each respective scheme. These decisions occur when buyers consolidate the number of recognised firms, or due to specific criteria for a particular country. It is therefore very important that producers know who their buyers are and enquire on their chosen firm’s recognition for those buyers. As a reminder to producers who will require a new audit in 2024, we highly recommend that you proactively reach out to the approved audit firms at least 3 – 6 months in advance to book the full SIZA social (ethical) audit.
Recently the Tesco Standards and Audits team have consolidated the recognition of their audit firms globally. For South Africa, and in particular for SIZA audits, Tesco will only accept SIZA social audits conducted by the following firms from the 1st of January 2024:

  • Control Union
  • ELEVATE
  • NSF
  • Partner Africa

For more information, feel free to refer to Tesco Approved Audit Firms on the SIZA website.
