Alistair Galloway has long been passionate about environmental sustainability and has secured an MSc in Conservation Ecology from Stellenbosch University. His MSc project was his first step into the sustainable agriculture realm, where he did his research on citrus orchards within the Sundays River Valley, Eastern Cape. He has experience in the sustainable agriculture industry through his previous employment as a sustainable agriculture auditor, which included 140 sustainable agriculture audits conducted across six countries in Southern Africa. Having completed his school career in Somerset West, Alistair has returned to his hometown, where he makes the most of every opportunity to go trail running, hiking, and gardening. Amber Smith graduated from Stellenbosch University with a BSc in Conservation Ecology and Entomology and is currently completing a Masters in Conservation Ecology. Amber says SIZA is the ideal place to launch her career because it upholds all the environmental principles she is passionate about. Amber strongly believes in the power of positive thinking and lives by her own mantra, “I can do this!” She is thrilled to be a member of SIZA and intends to contribute substantially to the South African agricultural industry. Reginald Scholtz was recently appointed to SIZA as a Junior Environmental Specialist. He completed his B.Sc. Honours in Environmental Science at the North West University. Reginald is eager to promote producer growth while preserving the SIZA’s environmental requirements.
