  • SIZA Standard Review Process

As SIZA’s methodology requires the Standards to be reviewed every 3 years, the time has come for another review of the SIZA Social and Environmental Standard in 2023. SIZA will follow a thorough process to ensure the review process is deemed rigorous and reliable. This will include a review by a technical work group (compiled from individuals representing the value-chain from producers to buyers), review by the SIZA Audit Reference Group, public comment by any interested participant, a formal legal review and a final draft presented to the SIZA Board for approval in August of 2023. The new Standards will be published in October 2023 following approval from the SIZA Board and training to all the auditors on any new requirements (if applicable).

Dates of Public Consultation Webinars for Producers and Buyers:

  • 23 May 2023 – Social Standard Consultation with Producers
  • 30 May 2023 – Social Standard Consultation with Markets
  • 01 June 2023 – Environmental Standard Consultation with Producers
  • 30 June 2023 – Environmental Standard Consultation with Markets

Access links to these webinars will be shared with interested individuals. If you would like to participate in these sessions via webinar, please indicate your interest by emailing Werner van Dyk (werner@siza.co.za).

If you wish to make an application to change or modify a particular code requirement in the SIZA Standard, please follow the process as indicated on this link: https://siza.co.za/wp-content/uploads/Application-form-to-change-or-adapt-a-Code-Requirement-in-the-SIZA-Standard.pdf
