  • SIZA Introduces QR Code Security Feature for Audit Completion Letters

The Sustainability Initiative of South Africa (SIZA) has introduced a new, enhanced security feature to strengthen the integrity and transparency of its audit process. Going forward, all Audit Completion Letters (“certificates”) will include a unique QR code that allows instant verification of their validity.

When scanned, the QR code will automatically confirm whether the specific Audit Completion Letter is valid at that moment, based on crucial compliance factors that support the audit process such as:

  • Current subscription status (paid and active SIZA registration)
  • Completion of the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) within required timelines as part of between audit monitoring
  • Timely resolution of all audit corrective actions
  • Timely resolution of all between audit monitoring corrective actions
  • To avoid the falsification of SIZA Audit Completion Letters

This feature enables any stakeholder, whether registered with SIZA or not, to instantly verify a supplier’s audit status, which will be displayed as Valid, At Risk, or Not Valid.

By adding this verification step, SIZA continues to promote trust, credibility, and transparency across the agricultural value chain.

For more information, please get in touch with Retha Louw (retha@siza.co.za) or Carmen Botes (carmen@siza.co.za).
