Six critical findings were reported for the months of January 2020 to September 2020. The procedures were communicated to the audit company and SIZA member appropriately. All critical findings have been reported in accordance with the SIZA Alert Notification policy.

The critical findings were categorised as follows:

  • Employees being verbally abused and threatened by farm manager
  • Allegations of physical manhandling and verbal abuse were made by employees
  • Piece-rate workers not receiving minimum wage rate
Two of the critical findings were resolved in full and the member implemented appropriate corrective action. The remaining four are either in the process of implementing appropriate corrective actions or are awaiting follow-up visits from the auditors before the finding will be closed.
